Triple Celebration of Life!

Today, August 15 we Catholic celebrates by faith the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Mother. In courtesy to Mr. Wikipedia, the Assumption of the Virgin Mary into Heaven, informally known as the Assumption, according to the beliefs of the Roman Catholic Church, Eastern Orthodoxy, Oriental Orthodoxy, and parts of Anglicanism, was the bodily taking up of the Virgin Mary into Heaven at the end of her earthly life.

During my youthhood, well I guess I’m still young at heart and mind as of the moment hehe, I was so curious that I myself questioned that occurrence. What’s their proof? Were those people who witnessed that event still alive to testify? As I grew up and as my catholic faith goes stronger, there is indefinable feeling in me while trying to imagine myself as one of those witnesses. Well, I guess, on my opinion..that’s how I define faith. Believing in something even without seeing.

Also today, 50 years ago the Servant of God Msgr. Aloysius Schwartz founded the Sisters of Mary Charity Program and the Sisters of Mary Congregation.
That was August 15, 1964.
It was 50 years ago.
A foundation that was built with an ardent desire to care for the sick, to relieve the suffering of the orphans, abandoned, the sick and the poor, especially the youth. Which Fr.Al did with all humility and courage until the end of his life. I was once a beneficiary of this man’s noble works. I will be forever grateful to this man.

Happy Foundation Day to the Sisters of Mary Family in Korea, Philippines, Guadalajara, Chalco, Guatemala, Brazil, Honduras and to all SMS Alumni…

“… The foundation of this institution is faith, hope and love…”

Also today, my mother celebrates her 59th year of existence in this world. My forever thanksgiving to God for giving me a very loving mother and an icon of a tough woman. For without her, I will be nothing in this world. May she have more birthdays to come, good health to treasure and more wisdom to share. I love you mama.
